We’ve had a lot going on this past week! To kick things off, last Saturday A4LE Washington Chapter held the annual Day of Service at Shaw Road Elementary School, with Andy leading the efforts with GLY Construction. We had a great turnout with 60+ volunteers that wrestled with ivy, spread mulch, and spruced up the campus! We were also excited to tour Laurie’s (Andy’s wife) classroom at the A4LE tour at Alki Elementary the Thursday before.
Wednesday night Fora attended the annual WASLA award ceremony and brought home the Honor Award for the Snoqualmie Tribe Harvest Kitchen and Greenhouse Classroom! Head to our website to read more about the project.
Thursday night, Fora hosted the WASLA climate action committee, where Isa shared our firm’s current efforts in developing a cost/carbon calculator to evaluate the carbon cost of our K-12 campus projects at each phase of design, with the hope that by exploring these carbon costs, we can help landscape professionals better ally with other design professionals and school districts to achieve more climate positive K-12 designs.
…and that’s a wrap for the week!
