Unity Commons

Project Overview

Providing 65 permanent supportive housing units for those experiencing homelessness, the Unity Commons project is a 5-story affordable rental building operated by Interfaith Works (IW) and developed by the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) in Olympia, WA. Providing a landscape design that not only enhances the living experience for residents, the project provides safe, clean, and accessible spaces that respects the dignity of and supports the needs for its residents. A lush streetscape and walk-up entries provide a pleasant entry experience for residents entering the secured building. An entry courtyard amenity space provides a secured accessible private space with raised gardening beds to be planted by residents, tables and chairs, and a synthetic turf activity lawn. The roof terrace provides a private communal amenity space as an oasis for residents to garden and relax.
