Stevens Creek Elementary and Early Learning Center

Project Overview

Fora was chosen to help create functional outdoor learning areas for this new Elementary and ELC campus in Lake Stevens. Community and School District input lead to the programming and design of an outdoor nature based learning lab space, complete with raised garden beds, compost station, an interactive stream with bridge, a stormwater rain garden with overlook, nature paths, native plant garden with education signage, lab table and outdoor classroom amphitheater seating. Fora designed a learning trellis with science experiment stations tied to Next Gen science standard curriculum. Expressing a connection to nature was at the heart of the design of all areas of the site including parking lots, courtyards, play areas and student gathering spaces. Large areas of the site were planted with native trees as part of a successional plan to reforest the site.
