Project Overview
Family First Community Center was envisioned by the City of Renton as well as public and private partners including former Seattle Seahawks football player Doug Baldwin to serve, celebrate, and support families as the heart of their community. Between the Cascade and Benson Hill neighborhoods of Renton and directly adjacent to Cascade Elementary School, the project includes a gymnasium, fitness center, and outdoor play areas for sports recreation and fitness classes open during non-school hours. It also includes a full medical and dental clinic as well as mental health counseling to help individuals and families overcome challenges and achieve their goals. The center hosts regular community events to foster social connections and provide opportunities for togetherness, weaving principles of biophilia that shaped the outcome of the project.
