7000 Campus Living – Shoreline Community College Student Housing

Project Overview

The first student housing dorm at Shoreline Community College and the first new building on the campus in over 20 years, the 7000 Campus Living building is sited in the heart of the school campus and was awarded LEED Silver. Fora used native plantings around the new housing to tie it into the existing campus as well as the adjacent Boeing Creek and Shoreview Park Open Space/ Natural Area. Located on a steep and irregular shaped site, the challenging conditions aided in creating a unique user experience and provided opportunities for stormwater mitigation and large lush bioretention areas. A central highlight of the building is the “Great Room”, which is a community lounge and event space for up to 80 people, and the space opens out to a large outdoor gathering courtyard space which allows for indoor-outdoor activities. The courtyard features festive catenary lighting, a large fire pit lounge with adirondack seating, wood seating areas, and a rain garden feature with quaking aspens that provide a lush surrounding for the courtyard.
