This Juneteenth, we reflect on Kofi Boone’s lecture “Recognition, Reconciliation, Reparation”, given as part of University of Washington’s CBE Humanities, Histories, Futures Lectures Series. His lecture was an important reminder of not only how critical it is to stop and listen to understand the communities we serve, but also of how much damage we can cause by coming in only looking for a design problem to solve.
