Fora Landscape Architects is pleased to announce new additions to the firm as well as promotions of three team members that have greatly contributed to the success of the firm over the past few years. Abby Jones has been promoted to Senior Associate, KC Hermsen to Senior Associate, and Isa Lewis to Designer II. Fora’s new team members include Alderik Gastmans, Sonia Shoji-Jeevanjee, and Nancy Chan. We are excited to welcome the new additions to the firm, as their individual talents and experience will strengthen and expand Fora’s capabilities to deliver meaningful projects in the Greater Seattle region.
Abby Jones’s promotion to Senior Associate reflects the impact she has made in Fora’s ability to deliver successful projects in the K-12 Educational and Mixed-Use realm. Excelling at managing large and complex projects, Abby’s technical prowess and detail-oriented skills are paired with a value-driven approach for resilient and sustainable solutions. Recent notable work includes Illahee Middle School, Crescent Harbor Elementary School, and the Everett Riverfront Development.
KC Hermsen has also been promoted to Senior Associate. When KC joined Fora she brought along with her a strong background of Mixed-Use and Transit-Oriented Design projects as well as Campus Planning and High-Rise Tower project experience. At Fora, KC plays a key role in Fora’s Mixed-Use Residential and Office design team and is now also leading project teams in Fora’s K-12 Educational Campus Design work, successfully delivering projects such as Amazon AUS20, 11040 Main, and Lake Stevens Elementary School #8.
Isa Lewis has been promoted to Designer II. Greatly valued for her ability to engage with clients and the professional community regarding complex community-oriented design projects, Isa has successfully delivered award-winning projects like the Snoqualmie Tribe Harvest Kitchen, as well as College Place Campus and Evergreen Transition Sensory Garden. At Fora, Isa has also been at the forefront leading development of their internal carbon calculator and establishing goals for Fora’s Climate Action work, developing resources to move the needle toward more climate positive design work.
Alderik Gastmans joins Fora with 25 years of experience in the landscape industry, from landscape construction to design/build to irrigation auditing, he has evolved into a skilled designer with a special talent for efficient and detailed construction management. Alderik has successfully guided design and construction processes for large public athletic field complex projects, parks, and a range of educational K-12 school campus projects.
Nancy Chan has also joined the Fora team, bringing a background of journalism and graphic design to the landscape architecture field and using these skills to weave storytelling and visual communication through her work. With over 12 years of experience on a diverse range of urban projects including mixed-use communities, multi-family residential, open space/transit projects and commercial office developments, Nancy draws from her native Texas and time lived abroad in Spain to bring a fresh perspective to her design work in the Northwest.
Lastly, Fora welcomes Sonia Shoji-Jeevanjee, a talented designer from Los Angeles with a breadth of experience in mixed-use residential, parks and school design across Southern California. She brings strengths in visual communication and hand graphics, creative design thinking, thoughtful team coordination, project management, and client communication skills.
